Time well spent at KINETICA ART FAIR 2014 ‘Celestial Mechanics’

In its sixth year, with the theme this time being ‘Celestial Mechanics’, and the ghost in the machine. Kinetica Art Fair 2014 set in a new location this year in trendy East London Old Truman Brewery. The Fair combines the best of art and science — from kinetic sculptures and hanging mobile works, to interactive holograms and 3D projections.  Showcasing talented artists and design studios from around the world.

It’s easy to spend a good few hours wandering around contemplating all the wonderful exhibits.

Manage to catch a talk too, ‘Whats Is The Universe Up To’ by John Martineau as he examines the puzzle of fine-tuning in the universe.2014-10-18 15.13.12

Samuel Apley’s Circus Kinetica — a large water-wheel-like contraption that looks like it popped right out of a H. G. Wells novel very Steampunk.
